Background
Federal law requires land management agencies to coordinate with local governments during resource management planning and to strive for consistency with approved local plans. Wyoming’s counties have created and revised Natural Resource Plans to identify local objectives and priorities for resource use, development, and protection—empowering counties to fully engage with federal land managers and participate meaningfully in decision-making processes. The WCCA assists counties in developing these plans and utilizing them in the Governor’s Consistency Review process.
