Socioeconomic Initiative

Background

A near constant refrain from Wyoming’s counties over the years has been the inadequacy of incorporating local economic, social, and custom and cultural attributes into federal plans and decisions. This frustration evolved into this initiative. There are currently no plans for counties without a socioeconomic initiative plan to develop one.

Objective

The Initiative supports the development of a socioeconomic profile for individual counties in Wyoming that accurately reflects each county’s socioeconomic profile and, where appropriate, sheds light on the county’s custom and cultural attributes—as identified by the county and its residents. The inputs for the assessment come from familiar, vetted, and universally accepted sources.
